The sub-project "Tourism without barriers adapts to regional marketing and attracts investment"
forms part of the activities in Interreg IIIC under the theme of inter-regional cooperation.
What is Tourism without barriers?
It is a type of tourism that takes accessible tourism that one step further. It looks to understand the
needs of the 21st-century tourist in a modern context and subsequently break down those barriers.
"Tourism without barriers" is the key to securing investments in the tourism industry, since it
encourages competition on all levels.
VCI sets out to dismantle a series of barriers, beyond physical ones, which are key objectives, for Valencia
to reap the fruits of its investments. The barriers can be:
- Cultural Barriers
- Language Barriers
- Age Barriers
- Health Barriers
Valencian Community Investments (VCI) is heading this project in collaboration with two European organisations, Northern Great Plain Thermal Cluster Association, Hungary and Europäischer Tourismusverbund, Germany.
The program will center around the following three areas of tourism that are vital if these barriers are to be broken: Senior Tourism (VCI), Thermal Tourism (Northern Great Plain Thermal Cluster Association) and Cultural Tourism (Europäischer Tourismusverbund).
